When opposites attract…. designed for Roche Bobois in 2012, the Ora Ito dining table is now presented in a new bronze version with a patina finish. Roche Bobois offers a new daring combination mixing an avant-garde silhouette with a three-thousand-year-old material. The result is an exceptional piece, released as a limited edition of 15 numbered pieces only, available exclusively at La Galerie Roche Bobois in Monaco. The offset base features three twisted supports that resemble vines and was created in an artisan workshop near Venice using lost-wax casting. This traditional process consists of pouring wax into a mould then melting it by injecting molten bronze. Roche Bobois used this age-old technique to create a new table that looks as if could also be an ancient artifact. ...

ORA-ITO is the brand and name used by the French designer who founded the first virtual studio, aged 19. Famed for subverting the communication of global design brands such as Nike and Apple, Ora Ito became something of a media sensation in the late 1990s, especially when orders to the ORA-ITO website flooded in as people tried to buy his ‘virtual’ range of products. He has since worked with many of the world’s leading brands. For Roche Bobois Ora Ito has created a range of furniture including a spectacular futuristic dining table, winner of the Best of the best at the 2013 Red Dot Awards.
